Miguel has focused his practice on matters relating to regulated public services, the development of energy projects, sanitary matters, as well as environmental, administrative and constitutional matters.

Experience

Miguel has been an associate of our firm since 2019. He is part of the Regulatory Law team and has focused his practice on matters of regulated public services, advising clients on contract negotiation, the development of energy projects, as well as on sanitary matters, environmental law, and administrative contracting.

On a permanent basis, he advises clients from different economic sectors on matters related to administrative law, such as, for example, challenging administrative acts, the development of sanctioning procedures, participation in bidding processes, obtaining and renewing permits for the operation of activities.  He has also provided consultancy in matters relating to urban planning law, as well as public procurement.

He has participated in due diligence processes for both the sale and purchase of assets in different areas, such as dairy production; energy generation; forestry; fishing; natural resources exploitation; pharmaceutical development; and real estate assets.

Additionally, he has assisted domestic and foreign clients in contract negotiations in various economic areas and has also participated in the implementation of projects with governmental entities.

Advice to

  • Advising multinational client on the sale of more than 300 properties located in central-southern Chile.
  • Advising on the merger of two important national dairy companies in Chile.
  • Advising a foreign client on the purchase of a company dedicated to the production of pharmaceutical products in Chile.
  • Advising on the development of renewable energy generation projects in the north of the country, mainly in the negotiation and drafting of O&M and toll contracts.
  • Advising on the sale of an important dairy production company in Chile to a foreign company.
  • Advising a forestry client in the negotiation and drafting of various real estate lease agreements that would allow the development of renewable energy generation projects.
  • Advising a national client in developing its real estate in Santiago.
