María José has been an associate at our firm since 2021. Previously, she worked as Chief Legal Officer at Emprende Inteligente, advising over 350 diverse clients, mostly startups. Previously, she served as a Reviewing Attorney at the Real Estate Registry of Rancagua, where she gained significant experience in notary and registry law.

She focuses on providing advice to both domestic and international clients in areas such as corporate, commercial, and civil law matters. Her expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring transactions, civil and commercial contracting, due diligence processes, and issues related to fishing and aquaculture within these contexts.

Regarding Venture Capital, she has been involved in the due diligence of such companies, the issuance and regulation of Stock Options for employees, capital raising rounds, MOU negotiations, and documentation, as well as expanding into international markets.

Regarding the REP Law, María José has been advising and involved in implementing two of the country’s five collective management systems—GIRO for packaging and VALORA+ for tires—since their incorporation. These systems arise from the mandatory requirements of the Extended Producer Responsibility Law.

Regarding Energy sector, María José provides ongoing advisory about tenders and negotiation of contracts in this area. 

In connection with Gaming Casinos, María José has participated in bidding processes for the awarding of casino licenses, collaborating in the preparation of supporting documents in the development of comprehensive projects submitted to the administrative authority. She also provides ongoing advisory services, negotiates with partners, and responds to inquiries from the Superintendence of Gaming Casinos.

Regarding Consumer Law issues, she advises clients on Consumer Law matters, mainly in matters of Product Safety, Recall campaigns, warranty and supplier obligations, including advice about the attributions and powers of the National Consumer Service.

• Represented Multiexport Foods in the sale of 24.5% of its stake in Salmones Multiexport to Cargill for USD 290,000,000.
• Representation of Datamart in capital raising in Seed round for                  USD 6,000,000 to Delaware.
• Advised an important foreign investment fund in the acquisition of national shipping companies, their vessels and other assets in Chile.
• Representation of Doppelmayr Seilbahnenn in the acquisitions of an additional 32,5% in Concesionaria Teleférico Bicentenario and modification to the related financing. 
• Representation of New Hope Ecotech in the signing of a contract for the implementation and start-up of an operation collective system of management of packaging under REP Law.
• Permanent advice to domestic and international clients in Casinos, Agriculture, Cable cars, Infrastructure, Retail, Mining among others.
