José Tomás has focused his practice on the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions area, which he joined in 2019. He is mainly engaged in advising international and domestic clients in M&A, Private Equity, Venture Capital, corporate restructuring and commercial contracting transactions.

He also has experience in matters related to Fintech, international logistics and bond issuance. During the year 2020 he carried out a professional exchange as Legal Counsel of A.P. Moller – Maersk, and in 2022, as External Partner in the Fintech area of Mercado Libre.

• Advised Sony Music and CTS Eventim in the purchase of 65% of Punto Ticket by their Joint Venture. Punto Ticket is the largest ticketing company in the country, which also has a dominant presence in Peru.
• Advised América Móvil in the merger of its Chilean subsidiary Claro Chile with VTR, a company owned by Liberty Latin America. The merger was made under a 50:50 regime and its objective is to expand their product offer and increase the investment in the fiber optic and 5G networks.
• Advised Mercado Libre in the negotiation of its extended warranty service with Assurant Argentina.
• Advised Mercado Libre in the internalization of its logistics and warehousing operation.
• Advised Maersk in the construction and development of LATAM’s first refrigerated train operation.
• Advised Datamart in the raising of a USD 6.3 million seed investment round backed by Banco Santander, Falabella and Banco BICE.
• Advised in reviewing and negotiating leases and commercial premises for a major player in the retail industry.
• Advised a dominant retail company in the placement of bonds under US Regulation 144A/Reg S.
