Our firm works intensively in the discussion and review of studies and environmental impact statements, and in administrative and judicial appeals in the context of the Environmental Impact Assessment System. We also advise our clients in the analysis and compliance with applicable environmental regulations, as well as in the defense before administrative procedures of supervisory authorities, such as the Environmental Superintendence, the Superintendence of Electricity and Fuels, the Sanitary Authority and others.
Our lawyers have had an outstanding participation in conflicts derived from environmental contingencies, because of the growing controversies and new environmental regulations in relation to industrial, mining, agricultural and commercial projects.
This area of practice includes not only work related to the enforcement of Law 19.300 on General Bases of the Environment, but also the Sanitary Code and complementary legislation to both bodies of law. In this regard, the application of Law 19.253 on the Protection, Promotion and Development of Indigenous Peoples and ILO Convention 169 on Indigenous and Tribal Peoples in Independent Countries have had specific relevance.
