Our area of expertise has been working for more than 15 years in creating links with East Asia, facilitating business to and from this region. In 2004, we started with China, organizing in Chile the seminar “Doing Business in China”, to which several Chinese law firms and the president of the Chinese Bar Association, All China Lawyers Association, were invited.

Within the challenges presented by this region, we actively joined the IPBA (Inter Pacific Bar Association), inviting other Latin American jurisdictions to join it.

In addition, we have frequently visited clients, foreign investment authorities and law firms in the region, generating relationships of friendship and camaraderie.

Our firm has generated links with the Embassy of China in Chile and of our country in China, serving clients from the most diverse areas of the economy who turn to their respective diplomatic representations in search of legal counsel or legal advice.

Considering this, we have actively participated with the Chinese Bar Association collaborating with the Chilean Chapter of the prestigious guide edited by such organization, called “Legal Environment Report of the Belt And Road Countries” (2018/2019).

We have supported Chinese companies in Chile since its inception, both in the process of setting up a permanent establishment in the country, as well as in the day-to-day legal advice; we have also advised them in public and private bids, transactions, mergers and acquisitions, EPC and AOM contracts. We have a list of relevant Asian clients, available upon request.

We understand that the challenge goes beyond legal advice to our Asian clients. We understand their difficulty with the Chilean culture, language and legal regulations, and we are at their side to help them in issues they have not noticed, trying to be as proactive as possible, so that they can have a full knowledge of the Chilean legal regulations; of the bills in process, of the public policies, of the functioning of the institutions, of the regulatory framework of the business they will develop, and any other relevant issue for their operation.
