Transport and infrastructure

Our firm has provided integral advice in large infrastructure projects, such as the construction of highways, ports, dams, hospitals and prisons, either as advisors to a single participant, or as advisors to a consortium that includes exclusively local members as well as foreign partners.

In each of these projects we have participated both in their origin, including advising in complex bidding processes for public, municipal or private works concessions, as well as in the subsequent acquisition or sale of participations in projects already underway. In both cases, our advice includes the different steps and aspects, including project financing, regulatory, environmental, administrative law, tax, corporate, contractual, antitrust, unfair competition, insolvency and associated insurance matters, as well as the specific regulatory aspects governing each specific project and the relationship and representation of the project owner before the competent authorities.

Regarding transportation, our firm has provided comprehensive advice on specific aspects of transportation legislation to important transnational air and maritime transportation companies, and to important local land transportation companies, including multimodal transportation or logistics services companies, extending our advice to the application of eventual bilateral, regional or multilateral international agreements and treaties, as well as the application of mandatory and supplementary regulations on carrier liability, available insurance and the relationship and representation of such companies before the competent authorities.
